Wayne Routledge lobbed the visitors ahead before Javier Hernandez volleyed United level from Alex Buttner's cross.

Substitute Fabio received a straight red card for a foul on Jose Canas before Bony's winner header.

Swansea will play Birmingham, Bristol Rovers or Crawley in the next round.
