All eyes on Wythenshawe by-election

The main political parties face their first electoral test of the year when voters in part of Greater Manchester go to the polls on 13 February.

The by-election in the previously safe Labour seat of Wythenshawe and Sale East follows the death of Paul Goggins.

The key question is whether a newly resurgent UKIP can gain ground in a safe Labour seat, as James Landale reports.
