Two men who were found fatally injured in a car in east London were stabbed to death, police have said.

The men were discovered by officers just before 01:00 GMT on Saturday in Montague Road, Leytonstone.

Post-mortem examinations found that one, aged 21, died after being stabbed in the neck while the other, aged 20, died from stab wounds to the chest, shock and haemorrhaging.

Neither man has been named and officers are still contacting their next of kin.

No arrests have been made. A double murder investigation has been launched and an incident room has been set up in Barking.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call 0208 345 3715 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
