Boy, 15, arrested after 40-mile car chase in west Wales
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of driving a car about 40 miles before crashing with another car, injuring its driver and passenger.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the boy was also taken to hospital in Carmarthen.
He is thought to have driven erratically for about 50 minutes, from Saundersfoot to Burry Port, causing minor damage to a number of stationary and moving vehicles.
The police helicopter was deployed by officers searching for the boy.
The A484 road remained closed with diversions in place while the recovery of vehicles and examinations were carried out.
Tactics 'limited'In a statement, Dyfed-Powys Police said the Fiat Punto car, which had been taken from the Saundersfoot area in Pembrokeshire at about 11:45 GMT, was in collision with a Citroen Xsara car in the Burry Port area at about 12:35 GMT.
Both the boy and the occupants of the other car were taken to hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.
The force said the safety of both the public and and the teenage driver were paramount at all times during their efforts to find him. Road policing officers and the force helicopter were both used.
The statement added: "Therefore the tactics available to try and stop the vehicle were limited and had to be considered very carefully whilst observations and sightings were continuously monitored and dynamic risk assessments made."
