Six stabbed in "frenzied attack"

Newtownabbey stabbing: Six injured

Police at scene Six people were injured in the incident

A man and a woman have been seriously injured in a stabbing incident in County Antrim, the ambulance service has said.

Four others were injured in the incident, which happened at around 16:00 GMT in Newtownabbey.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbings.

The house in Ballyduff Gardens remains closed as police investigate.

John McPoland from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: "There were two people seriously enough injured for our crews to ask that the medical people be waiting for them on arrival (at hospital).

"There are stab injuries all over different parts of their body, including the chest, back and groin. So it looks like some kind of frenzied attack."
