Wigan forward Nick Powell will be on the bench, having played through the pain barrier last weekend.
New loan signing Josh McEachran will also not feature - the Chelsea midfielder is on a specific training plan to improve his fitness.
Paddy McCarthy is expected to make the Palace squad after groin trouble.
But Jerome Thomas and Kagisho Dikgacoi are still suffering from calf problems and Jack Hunt (ankle) and Glenn Murray (knee) are also out.
Wigan manager Uwe Rosler insists he is targeting victory over Premier League opposition: "We are at home and we want to go further [in the competition].
"We know we can win games - we have shown that since I came to the club.
"I say this even when we play Crystal Palace - a Premier League side. It's up to us, are we winning or not? We have the quality in our team to finish 90 minutes as a winner."
But Crystal Palace defender Dean Moxey wants a good run in the competition: "It's the FA Cup so it's a big thing.
"It will be tough at Wigan, so we have to get ready for that. Of course we fancy a run in the FA Cup.
"The main thing is the league obviously, but then everyone wants an FA Cup winners' medal, don't they? It will be nice to have a run in it."
