Mikaeel Kular: Mother returns to court on murder charge

Mikaeel Kular was reported missing earlier this month

The mother of three-year-old Mikaeel Kular has appeared in court for a second time charged with his murder.

His body was found in Fife on 17 January, the day after he was reported missing from his Edinburgh home.

Rosdeep Kular, 33, appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court under her married name of Adekoya.

A prison van arrived at the court on Tuesday morning

She is also accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice. She made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody awaiting trial.

Mikaeel was reported missing from his home in Ferry Gait Crescent, Edinburgh.

More than 200 volunteers from the community joined the emergency services in a huge search operation.

Mikaeel's body was found 20 miles away in Kirkcaldy, Fife.
