Pianist John Briggs jailed for indecent assaults

A renowned concert pianist has been jailed for eight years after being found guilty of indecently assaulting music pupils.

John Briggs had denied assaults on boys aged 10 to 15 between 1969 and 1993.

Bradford Crown Court heard the victims were sea cadets and boys having piano lessons.

Mr Briggs, 65, of Little Lane, East Morton, in West Yorkshire, has performed at high-profile venues across the world.
