EU Referendum Bill clears first Lords hurdle

A bill that would allow a referendum on the UK's membership of the EU in 2017 has cleared its first hurdle in the House of Lords.
Meanwhile, Tory former Lords leader Lord Strathclyde warned peers that delaying its passage in subsequent stages would be "comprehensively damaging" for the upper chamber's reputation.
The private member's bill would enact PM David Cameron's pledge to hold an in/out referendum in 2017.
Carole Walker reports.
