Footballer Nile Ranger arrested over Liverpool taxi damage

Nile Ranger Nile Ranger now plays for Swindon Town

Former Newcastle United footballer Nile Ranger has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a taxi in Liverpool.

The 22-year-old was arrested after an alleged argument with a driver in Water Street in the city centre at about 06:00 GMT.

He was taken to a police station in Liverpool to be questioned before being released on bail, police said.

The footballer now plays for League One team Swindon Town.
