A dog walker has died after falling into a canal in Burnley.

Two passing joggers pulled him from the water and he was treated at the scene by the emergency services.

However, he was pronounced dead at 13:40 GMT at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. The man's dog was found near the canal unharmed.

The man has not yet been formally identified by police.
